Where were you in 1962? Do you remember...the Cuban Missle Crisis when the world was at the brink...Marilyn Monroe's rendition of "Happy Birthday" sung to President Kennedy, and her tragic death a few months later...taking the oral Polio vaccine in school...John Glenn orbiting the Earth...The Beatles first single "Love Me Do"...movies "West Side Story", "Lawrence of Arabia", and "To Kill a Mockingbird" were big hits at the box office ...Spiderman first appeared in Marvel Comics...Bob Dylan, Chubby Checker, and Frankie Valli were on the music charts...a gallon of gas cost 28 cents and a dozen eggs was 32 cents ...average cost of a new car was $3100...average income was $5500...tuition to Harvard was $1500 a year....names like Joe Weatherly, Richard Petty, Ned Jarrett, and Jack Roberts were tearing up the NASCAR circuit...tail fins were disappearing from America's cars...factory racing was still an important part of car manufacturer's plans...big block engines were firmly ensconced as options in all car lines...three of the leading car companies of the day were Ford, Chevy, and Dodge.

Ohio Corvettes and Muscle Cars feels proud to have some pieces of that automotive history here at our dealership. We are in possession of a 1962 Ford Galaxie factory 406, a 1962 Chevy Impala SS 409, and a 1962 Dodge Polara 500 with a 413 wedge. Is that cool, or what? And, to add to the fun we have a 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix (the 1st year for that model). Stop by and see us to get a look at these cool pieces of automotive history.
