Vehicle Description
The 1968 GTO...the year of the first significant body re-design in 7 years. Also, '68 had the most significant engineering improvements and built in safety features since the GTO was introduced.
The industry's first, and a Pontiac exclusive, was the energy absorbing front bumper that was standard on all GTO models. Painted the same color as the body exterior, it gave the GTO a completely new and different front end appearance. Pontiac's already wide track is widened to 60 inches front and rear giving it a more agressive stance and better handling.
Under the hood of this Goat is the standard 400 ci engine producing 350 hp, which is mated to the optional 4 speed transmission. Keeping the tires on the road is the optional Saf-T-Track rear axle. Power steering and brakes make this big muscle easy to handle and a pleasure to drive.
Additional options include Rally II wheels, retractable headlight covers, electric clock, dual stage HD air cleaner and console.
